Link to clinical work
At our lab, we are also committed to bridging the gap between scientific research and practical application. One way we aim to achieve this is through our active involvement in clinical work at PRAKTIJK50, a private multidisciplinary clinical practice in Lokeren (independent from Ghent University) lead by Prof. Dr. Tine Vervoort.
Our hands-on clinical experiences and practice-based evidence with a diversity of mental health challenges provide invaluable first-hand insights that enrich our understanding of health inequities, inform our research endeavors, and propel us to develop innovative solutions and interventions that address the complex needs of those we serve. Additionally, we employ a wide range of therapeutic approaches ranging from primary psychological care to psychotherapy (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and client-centered therapy), all with the intent of effectively addressing the unique needs, preferences, and challenges of our diverse clients. Furthermore, we aim to integrate our scientific insights in our clinical work, thereby enhancing the quality and effectiveness of our interventions and enabling our research to move beyond theoretical realms and spark transformative change.
